Cars in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers stated they were notified by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state early analysis show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A senior representative stated the incident made him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
